New Journey

So I sat here thinking of that to write. What do people want to know about in regards to their health? Why eat this, why shouldn't I do that?  What are the changes that I am going through and how can it relate to my peeps?! So this is a more personal post than anything.

Today, I will be embarking on a new diet/lifestyle journey. One that I teach my clients and loved ones to follow already. As prescribed by my new doctor, at Parsley Health (an incredible medical/wellness center) I am doing an 'elimination' diet but I am taking it a bit further because i know my body better than anyone. I've known for years that I've needed to do this. I need to heal my gut for once and for all and feel even better than I already do. I need to give my body every defense I can possibly give it!!! Having an autoimmune disease makes it easy to constantly live in fear.

I was told recently that  "a doctor cannot be his/her own doctor." The reason that resonated with me was because you can do everything right in regards to eating and living but there are some things you're going to need help understanding. I know how to eat. I know how to lead a healthy lifestyle. But, sometimes I need someone (preferably a functional medical doctor) to keep me in check and take my blood and make sure I'm getting the proper vitamins.

Self love is something I always preach! Love is the other ingredient we all seem to miss a lot of times. We get so busy with everything we have going on that we forget to make sure we are taking care of ourselves. This new way of living for me, whether temporary or not, is something I'm not going to apologize for. I NEED this. I need to care for myself.

For those interested, I am going to be doing Whole30 (it will most likely last longer then 30 days) but also readjust my daily schedule to accommodate necessary love for my mind, body and soul.
